The annual Nantucket Daffodil Festival is the official welcome of spring on island. It also just so happens to be one of my very favorite events of the year. I know I talk about the weather a lot on this blog – but THE WEATHER! It was so beautiful yesterday. The sun did not dissapoint.
I was walking down the street in 'Sconset saying to my friend Tim, "This right here, this is why I love living here." People aren't afraid to dress up in silly hats, decorate their cars, wear ridiculous clothes, hug everyone they see, and spend the day eating, drinking and being merry in the name of a simple flower. Well, of course it's more than the flower that brings us all out. It's community, really. And we have one of the finest communities in the world. Don't we?
Here is just a little preview of the parade and picnic. Like our Facebook page to see many more, as soon as Facebook gets it's act together and lets us upload again…. www.facebook.com/zofiaphotography
