Mark and Somer’s wedding at the Summer House really began when Mark proposed to Somer while having lunch on the patio of the Summer House nearly a year ago. The couple had an intimate ceremony with their closest family and friends. Mark’s nieces read a passage during the ceremony, and the couple’s good friend surprised nearly everyone and served as the Officiant.
Jeff Ross played Here Comes the Sun as Somer walked down the shell isle escorted by her tearful father. Betsey Brooks provided the floral decorations for the day, including bundles of Rosemary tied with lace along the isle. After the ceremony and a few photos up top, we moved down to the lawn for cocktails, (specially cocktail: White Sangria) and then under the Sperry Tent to avoid a short rain shower and start the reception.
Under the tent, the guests where seated at three long tables. The Summer House chef, served a family style dinner of butter poached lobster, hushpuppies, and summer vegetables. Kelly Badger, of Petticoat Row Bakery, recreated the bride’s grandmother’s recipe for their wedding cake. The newly wed couple danced and enjoyed the music of Jeff Ross’s full band The Atlantics, and danced the remainder of the night away.
Best wishes to the couple!
