Nantucket Island Events coordinated a gorgeous wedding last week. On the Friday afternoon prior to the big day, guests lunched at Topper’s, which they arrived to by the boat launch. That evening, they were also treated to drinks on the roof of the Whaling Museum and dinner inside.
The bride and groom were married the next day at St. Mary’s Church, with a reception following at the bride’s family home on Cliff Rd. The bride’s sisters were her maids of honor, and wore flowy dresses by Amsale and flower crowns by Flowers on Chestnut. The bridesmaids were in pretty, alternating patterns of grey and floral. During cocktail hour, guests played croquet at neighboring Westmoor Club, before being led to the house by musicians playing sax and guitar.
Succulents adorned the farm tables under the impressive tent, (check out the set up timelapse by September Productions!!). The bride’s mother has a green thumb and a gorgeous garden, which was the setting for the reception. Her apples were even baked into amazing pies for dessert.
Dinner was blessed by Father Fitzgerald, as he and the guests sang the blessing to the tune of Edelweiss from the Sound of Music. Appropriately so, as the bride is a theatre actress herself. The full moon set the scene as guests danced under the tent to Sultans of Swing and celebrated the newly married couple!
